The Fall Season

Knitting/crocheting season has officially begun today. Made a pumpkin of my own pattern creation. So exciting. Lots of things in the works this year. Will be knitting/crocheting all winter. Love it.

IF: Old Fashioned

I must admit, after living in New York City for almost 4 months, I am starting to miss the "country." I guess I'm a little less of a big city girl than I thought.

Rough week so far. Stitching was calming.

Painted Sketch

For Christmas my Aunt gave us all a DVD of old family movies. I'm starting to paint film stills from this DVD. The colors/grain in the film are great. This is a gouache sketch of my Grandma and Great Aunt at my Grandma's wedding. Classic expressions.

My First Illustration Friday!

My lovely boyfriend and I will be making this for breakfast tomorrow! Not only am I overly excited to eat this delicious bacon... I am more excited to be starting what I hope will be a weekly Illustration Friday post!

Home Sweet Home

So I did this yesterday and I was GOING to submit it to an open call at a gallery in Brooklyn. Well, I must have been really tired because I painted on it when the submission was only for drawing mediums... oh well. Also, I think its time for a good scanner cleaning.

Website

So I have been working on my website this weekend and it just has further cemented the reality that I have a lot of work to do....which is fine.

What has really been interesting in making a collection of all my work, is that it has shown me what direction I have subconsciously been going in over the past couple years and where I want to continue going. I'm focusing on enjoying Rochester and getting ready to move on June 1, but once I am settled in I will be getting down to some serious work for sure.

Today

This pretty much says it all. And the fact that I forgot to flip the image is an added testament to my confusion and decreasing motivation. Going to continue to draw and maybe see if I come up with anything decent. Blah.
